For Christmas break I visited Los Angeles.
For this break I spent five days in Loves Park, IL. Beautiful!
I did a ton of nothing, but also accomplished a bit. Best of all I got to spend time outside with my parents in their amazing backyard. The weather was so agreeable we spent almost all day outside on Mother's Day. On Monday I took a 5-mile run at Rock Cut State Park, helped my dad mow the lawn and enjoyed a lot of time with my book outside as well. On Tuesday my dad and I drove around in the convertible with the top down and saw a baseball game in the evening.
That sounds like a pretty busy vacation, but it wasn't. My parents' backyard is awesome -- it's grassy and green with flowers like crazy, pretty birds flying about for snacks at the finch feeders, butterflies fluttering around lilac bushes and a sweet spot to sit to watch it all go by.
I actually took a lot of photos with my iPhone, so I'll show those off this week with a few more posts. For now I'm at home with my new Ikea chair, considering the to-dos I can accomplish before Monday, and feeling very, very relaxed. Hooray!
This photo is from my wedding shower, so the ostrich is wearing a bowtie. My parents' yard is full of cool, funky animals made from old farm tools.
