Clean

Our house is feeling much tidier today after I've dumped out a ton of containers, gone through heaps of papers, thought about the virtues of keeping ticket stubs and tossed a lot of junk.

And we re-arranged some furniture so we have a nice piece out in the living room area instead of hidden away. And I'm trying to move some junk out of the house in order to make our home seem less like a perpetual study zone. I've downsized to one (ONE!) container for writing implements and their highlighter friends. And, I'm trying to say goodbyes to rubbish.

I put together a little basket on the stairway where I keep some umbrellas and sunglasses to grab on my way out the door.

It's a wonderful feeling to have stuff gone and clear out this place.

I have a few items that are now in the "use or toss" category:

  • scrubby sandals that I think I'm supposed to wear after a shower.
  • about 12 shades of lipstick -- since I wear lipstick like once a month.
  • my jar collection -- I really love jars and do not like to toss glass since it can't be recycled very easily (that's why we drink beer and pop from cans). So I scrub out jars and keep them... for... I don't know what. Any ideas?
The photo above is of the Marilyn Monroe statue downtown being taken down -- It was a pretty cool sight!
