Whoa!

I just signed up for my first half-marathon! 13.1 miles on June 24!

It's the Women's Half Marathon in Chicago. (Also, B's favorite watch to spectate at.)

I know running isn't everyone's cup of tea, but it is very much my cup of tea. I'm psyched to run so far -- just about a month after my 10 mile run coming up. This means a lot of running this spring and summer. Thankfully, getting some fresh air in my lungs and some miles on my sneakers is a beautiful thing for my body and my heart. I love it.

I will run because running makes me feel strong, because it clears my head, because it reminds me to breathe deep, because it lets me organize everything in my brain. I will run because "strong is the new skinny" and because "no matter how slow you are you are still lapping everyone on the couch" and because I've never been upset that I went for a run (even when I scraped my knee.

If you'd like to run a 5K or other race -- I hope you will. And I'll run with you! Tell me!
