A snowy, snowy race

Swirling, blowing, up-down-all-around snow fell as about a thousand people and I ran the Wacky 5K this morning.

It was pretty, even though it was a little blinding whenever I ran northward though the West Loop course (past Michelle Obama's high school and B's too - Whitney Young! Whoo!). My time was decent for me 35:05. I think I could have gone faster if it hadn't been so slippy-snowy, but I'm still darn pleased I didn't wipe out or over-dress as is so easy to do for winter running.

Hopefully my next races will be warmer or at least un-snowy. I actually don't know what's on for April or anything past today's race in my year of 5Ks.

If anyone is interested in a certain race or ran a good one in the past - tell me! There are so many to pick from, especially now that I have this massive list from Windy City Sports Magazine.

I'm thinking Run to Wrigley will be next. I ran it last year and it's a big race, close to home and you get to end the race with a dash along the Clark side of Wrigley and come out under the big marquee. Oh, Cubbies!

Even with snow dancing around my window, I can see spring coming. Sort of.
