Brrrrr!
It's very fall-ish now, and it's pretty delightful. There's a lovely breeze and I'm toasty-warm under my Bears fleece blanket. Fall means all kinds of zaniness in my neck of the woods:
- My boss is leaving her job. I'm getting a new boss at some point soon. This means big, weird changes are likely. That's cool with me, I'm all for improvements, but I don't want anyone messing with my brilliant filing systems.
- I spearheaded a campaign to make my school's fall family event a Pasta Night and now I'm in charge of it. Does anyone know how much pasta (meat sauce, veggie sauce, crusty bread, juice, cookies) I might need to feed an unknown number of 2- to 5-year-olds and their families? Hmmm. Me neither.
- I'm riding my speedy yellow bike to work! It's pretty darn quick and a beautiful ride along the sunrise over Lake Michigan. On the way home I take streets, which is sometimes fun, sometimes scary.
- I've already begun concocting more soups! I made an excellent Rachael Ray recipe last weekend - buffalo chicken chili. What's next? Minestrone? French onion? Black bean pumpkin?
- I'm flying to our nations' capital for my 10-year-best-friend-iversary with Best Friend Julie! It shall be a famously fun weekend, even if we just sit around and watch bad movies. But we're making big plans.
- Julie also wants me and B to visit DC for the Presidential Inauguration! Should we?

Damn right you should go to President Obama's inauguration! I guess it's easy for me to say that since I'm not throwing down the $, but still, it will be a damn fine sight. (Fingers crossed.)
Ask James about the food quantities. He placed the food order for Whole Food's deli department for a number of years and he has catering experience.
mmm.. I think you should make something with squash. I'm not quite brave enough, but I really want to try something.
